Pausing an order temporarily deactivates it without canceling it entirely. Paused orders will qualify as active orders, except that the provision is currently inactive. Only automatic-provisioned services can be paused.
Enabling Pause Functionality:
Whether it will be possible to pause an order or not is set on the Service Type. To enable pausing for an order:
- Ensure the Pause order allowed setting is enabled for the respective Service Type.
- Once enabled, the Pause/Resume action will appear for applicable orders.
How to Pause an Order:
- Navigate to the active order.
- Select the Pause action.
- Confirm the pause to temporarily deactivate the order.
Key Details:
-
Manual Pausing:
- Orders paused by the Service Provider, Operator, or customer will not be automatically terminated (read more about automatic pausing below).
- Customers can resume paused orders via the Marketplace. Don’t use this function for abuse-cases or billing issues.
-
Automatic Pausing:
- Occurs when a new order containing an untagged VLAN (e.g., internet order) is placed at an object that already has an active order with an untagged VLAN from another provider.
- The paused order remains in this state for a predefined period (default is three days) before being automatically terminated.
- Service Providers cannot resume automatically paused orders. These must be handled by the customer via the Marketplace or by the Operator.
Billing and Status Considerations:
- Wholesale Cost: Wholesale fees still apply to paused orders.
- Status Updates: Paused orders retain their status as active orders, but the provision is inactive.
- Eligible Orders: Only automatically provisioned services can be paused.
