Objects in Business Engine can have various statuses that indicate their stage within the deployment process and determine what actions are possible at the address.
Objects in Business Engine can have three main statuses: Not Deliverable, In Deployment, and Deliverable.
Not deliverable
Description: This status indicates an inactive object, meaning no orders can be placed.
Impact on Orders: Orders cannot be created for objects with this status.
Additional Actions: Surveys and signups could be allowed, creating Prospects.
Note: The "Active from" date set on the object does not influence this status.
In deployment
Description: The object is scheduled for connection in the near future but is not yet fully connected.
Impact on Orders: Orders can be placed, but they will not activate until the object reaches the Deliverable status.
Work Order Creation: A work order is automatically created for deployment once this status is set.
Deliverable
Description: The object is now active and available for service.
Impact on Orders: Orders resulting from signups will activate, and new orders can be placed as well.
Creating Orders for Objects In Deployment Status
Service providers can create orders even when an object is in the In Deployment status. For orders to be possible, the service type must have Allow for objects in deployment = Yes. However, these orders will remain inactive until the object status updates to Deliverable.
- Activation Date: Orders must have an activation date set after the object’s Active from date.
- Role of Active from Date: This date signals when the object is expected to move from deployment to active status. If the Active from date is adjusted or passes without activation, affected service providers will be notified, and billing will not apply to orders until activation occurs.
