How to Use Placeholders in Email templates

When editing email templates, you can use placeholders to automatically insert user-specific information into standard messages. This makes your communication more personal and dynamic without requiring manual adjustments.

For example:
If you write Hello [Customer], the placeholder [Customer] will be replaced with the customer’s actual name when the message is sent.

  • Template text: Hello [Customer]

  • Sent message: Hello Anna

Placeholders in different templates

Different email templates include different sets of placeholders, depending on the purpose of the email and who the recipient is.

Inside each email template, you will find the available placeholders, organized into categories. This makes it easier to see what kind of information can be inserted automatically.

Click the preview eye icon in the email template to show an example of how the placeholders will be populated with data in the final message.

Example of placeholders

  • Customer:LoginWithTokenUrl– Inserts a unique link so the customer can access My Pages, already logged in.

Notes

  • Available placeholders vary depending on the email type.

  • Placeholders are replaced automatically when the email is sent.

  • If you are unsure about a specific placeholder or its behavior, please contact support.
