How to set up GL codes in Business Engine
What is a GL Code?
A General Ledger (GL) code is a unique identifier used in accounting systems to categorize financial transactions. In Business Engine, GL codes facilitate the mapping of billing data to the appropriate financial accounts, enabling accurate financial reporting and reconciliation.

Creating a New GL Code
To add a new GL code:

Navigate to Settings > Services > GL Codes.

Click Add New

Enter the following details:

Code: A unique identifier for the GL entry.

Description (optional): A short summary or explanation.

Associated Price type and/or Service: Select the billing item(s) the GL code applies to.

Code Type: Choose the appropriate category/type for the GL code (e.g. cash, credit, service or stripe.

Visibility on Invoices
GL codes are displayed on customer invoice line items when applicable, making it easy to trace billing data back to financial records.
