How to Manage Addons for Service Offerings

The Addons feature allows service providers to choose whether or not they want to offer addons together with their main services. Addons are optional extensions that can be enabled to give end customers additional value and flexibility, while keeping management simple.

What Are Addons?

Addons are secondary services that extend or enhance a main service. For example, a broadband connection might include addons such as Static IP or Extender.

Addons are shown in the Customer Portal, so end customers can view, select, or manage available options associated with their active services.

Addon Templates

To simplify service creation, addon templates can be set up for commonly used addon services. Service providers are responsible for uploading and maintaining these templates.

Billing and Delivery

If your setup uses COS End User Billing, addons will be invoiced to the end customer just like the main service. In such cases:

  • Each addon is created as its own order contract.

  • The addon’s cancellation rules are managed separately.

Order Management

In the Admin Portal, it’s possible to manage addons independently of the main service order.

You can:

  • Filter for orders that include one or more addons.

  • Add addons later to an existing order.

  • Set a cancellation date for an addon — this does not affect the main service order.

This flexibility makes it easy to adjust customer subscriptions over time without disrupting their base service.

Summary

Addons enable service providers to offer customizable, value-added options to their customers.
With addon templates, flexible management tools, and optional end user billing integration, addons provide both convenience and scalability in service delivery.
