Solution Overview
COS Business Engine allows network operators and service providers to create and manage promotions to attract customers and boost sales. Promotions can include discounts, special offers, or limited-time pricing adjustments on services. This guide provides a step-by-step process for creating a promotion in COS Business Engine.
Step by Step Instructions
To initiate the creation of a new Promotion, navigate to the "Services" section within the COS Business Engine Dashboard and select "Services/Services" to access the relevant service. 
From the "Search Services" menu, users will select the Service they wish to add a new Promotion to. 
Once you have selected the Service you wish to add a Promotion to, select the "New Promotion" button shaped like a moneybag to begin the process.
Enter the Base Information details about the promotion:

"Inhouse name" of the promotion (used for internal tracking).

Add the the "Name" which is the banner name that will appear publicly on Marketplace.

Set whether the promotion shall be "Active" or not. Note: If activated, the marketplace will continue to display the previously active promotion until it is manually deactivated.

Choose the "Period type"—either "Due date" or "Months" from the drop down list—to determine how the promotion will be applied.

Define the "Promotional period" using the "Available From" and "Available To" fields. "Available from" determines from what date that the promotion should be available to sign up for. "Available to" allows you to set a date when the promotion shouldn't be available anymore. You may leave the "Available To" field blank if there is no specific end date.
- "Apply as Credit" If the period type is selected in months the Promotion is allowed to be applied as credits to the whole invoice. Apply as credit requires that billing is active. Ensure the "Apply as Credit" checkbox is selected—this is the most important setting for credit application.

Optionally, check "Show in Customer Portal" to display the promotion to customers in Marketplace. If you only want to apply this promotion from the back end, then leave this box unchecked.

Edit the "Description/message" that will be shown to customers in Marketplace.
Finally, click "Save" to create the promotion.
After saving the promotion click the button "Create Template"
A Service Promotion Template will be created.
Go back to the service. Now you will need to configure additional settings for the Promotion. Choose Discount type Fixed price. Add the price. The price should reflect the price after the discount is applied. Select a group/groups who will be eligible to receive the Promotion.
Next, navigate back to the service. Deactivate or delete old promotion (if any).
Click the "Publish" button in order to publish a new version of the service including the promotion you just created. It also makes the Promotion visible and available to eligible users on COS Marketplace.
While editing, the previous Service version remains visible in the Customer Portal. Once you press Publish, the updated version replaces the old one
