How Is the Earliest Cancellation Date Calculated?
Each order in COS Business Engine is automatically assigned an Earliest Cancellation Date. The Earliest Cancellation Date is calculated based on the contract period (binding period) defined for the ordered service.
Applies to: Operators
Calculation Logic
The Earliest Cancellation Date for an Order is calculated by adding the contract period to either the From Date (intended delivery date) or the Activation Date (actual delivery date), depending on your system configuration.
The intended delivery date of the order. This is the date when the service is planned to become active. The From Date may differ from the actual Activation Date if the order is delayed due to technical, provisioning, or other operational reasons.
Activation Date
The actual delivery date of the order. This is the date when the service is successfully activated in the system and becomes active for the subscriber.
Default Behavior
By default, the Earliest Cancellation Date is calculated from the From Date (intended delivery date).
Why Is This Configurable?
Contract regulations and market practices differ between countries. To accommodate these differences, it is possible to configure whether the calculation should be based on the From Date or the Activation Date.
